May 27th - May 28th, 2015

alienteacher - decline all trades scam. When people called him out as a scammer he became rude and started insulting people. Of course when someone traded him a small rare he accepted and immediately ran away, like these types of scammers always do. The decline all trades scam is not much different than the "trust trading" scam that I see a lot of now.

tytytytytyt18376 - this person was asking for gifts and in return she said she might send her rare spike collar to whoever sent the best gift. This is a lazy way to get rares and definitely a scam, since spikes are very popular right now and it is very unlikely someone is just going to give one away. Also I have noticed this new trend in Animal Jam, where people say they are recording a video to try and entice people into trading or sending gifts, and I am doubtful that most are recording at all. And one more note - people with long complicated usernames like this one are often (but not always) scammers since they take such a username to make remembering it and therefore reporting it much more difficult.

goodgirl15447 - claiming to be giving a way a spike at her den, but did not have a spike on trade. If she had a spike why would she not just trade it fairly? And again spikes are super popular right now. It is unlikely anyone is just going to give one away.

candyland24747 - this person was promising to give away a "beta" spike collar. First, there is no such thing as a beta spike collar as the original spike collars were one of the first monthly member gifts released in 2011, long after the beta stage. Secondly he would not wear the spike collar or put it on trade to prove he had it, and when I confronted him about being a liar and a scammer, he immediately ran away. Not only is this an extremely lazy way to get rares, but should be an obvious scam since he won't just try and trade fairly for something that is super popular right now and is something a lot of people want and would probably trade good rares for.

checkers4 - another "gifting" scam. He said he would send his spike collar to anyone to gifted him a party hat, and of course he did not send anything when some innocent Jammer believed his obvious lie. Another lazy attempt to get rares. A party hat for a rare spiked collar is a fair trade to most people and this guy would not put it on trade because he's a scammer trying to entice people into sending him rares. I'm seeing more and more of this gifting scamming going on and I really wish people wouldn't fall for it. Like seriously guys, if it sounds too good to be true THEN IT IS! Only trade fairly for things, no matter how badly you want it - that is how you avoid being scammed.
